About St. Paul's |
|
WorshipThe constitution of St. Paul's United Church of Christ says that
our purpose is: Worship is of primary importance in the life of our congregation. Two services are offered each Sunday morning at 9:00 & 10:30 AM with Sunday school for all ages at 10:30 AM. In addition, special services such as mid-week Lenten Services, special music programs, and a well-attended, traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service are held throughout the year. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of January, lent, June, August, October and Advent, as well as on Maundy Thursday and Easter morning. The time of communion is the same as our schedule of Sunday Worship Services. In addition, we offer a "quiet Communion" service at 2:00 PM on Communion Sundays. MusicSt. Paul's Church has a strong music program. In addition to our excellent Chancel Choir, we have a Junior Choir for youth and a Cherub Choir for smaller children. In recent years, our Junior and Cherub Choirs have combined to present a special Christmas program at the beginning of Advent. We also have a number of instrumental groups such as our four bell choirs for all ages (including children, youth and adults), a brass ensemble and a small orchestra that has accompanied our combined Christmas Cantata and other special music programs. All choirs take a "summer vacation" from early June through Labor Day. During that time individuals and groups are invited to provide special vocal or instrumental music for our Sunday Worship Services. |
